Hi Make sure when you sync that there are not directories with duplicate book, also format the reader clean and try again, once formated check no books are showing. Hope this helps
Hello Mario 118
I also have a PRS 600. I registered it with Sony on a computer with XP OS. but never used the book. In the meantime moved to a new computer with windows 7 OS.
I am very disappointed with Sony. They seem to have no backup at all with there software when something goes wrong with EREADER. We have to rely on forums.
I can't get my sony to accept any ereader books. Can't manage to get it to communicate with my computer at all.
This was a very expensive Book over 200 Euro. And it has never worked to download a book to it for me.
Similar to youI am ready to chuck it in the tip. And at the present moment wouldn't recommend Sony Reader to anyone under the present circumstances.

Thanx for that. It took a while to work out how to clear my reader back to nothing and I lost all my free books but hey, it works now. So thank you.
Just bought the wife a new 3g Amazon kindle and I must admit, set up in seconds works like a charm straight away. image clarity perfect. I am a little envious! Tried to share a book )I have paid for! ) with her kindle but willl not transfer over (epub) file format.
thanx again for help

I think you need to de-register and then re-register the reader to your computer in' my sony' on line. Your PDF manuel tells you how to check if the reader is registered to your current PC.
Good luck .... you will need it!

Hi Mario 118
I had an email from sony re this forum today. & I see that you have got your PRS600 to work finally. Well that is good news.
I just had a email from sony that my message was viewed over 2,475 times and I had 4 replies. Well it looks the viewers all took notice and didn't purchase a Sony ereader. Thanks for your reply.
I am only reading it now on the prompt from sony.
Sorry to say I have lost total interest in my very expensive over €200 expense PRS 600 SONY EREADER. I have no contact at all from Sony as to there responsibility in this matter.
AS I SAY WE HAVE TO RELY ON FORUMS TO SOLVE PROBLEMS THAT PEOPLE HAVE WITH SONY EREADERS. IT SEEMS SONY HAVE NO BACK UP ON THERE SOFTWARE OR HAVE NO OFFICIAL HELP TO OFFER THERE CUSTOMERS.
EREADERS IN GENERAL ARE A GREAT CONCEPT BUT IN MY EXPERIENCE A COMPLETE DISASTER WHEN IT COMES TO SHARING WHAT BOOK WE HAVE READ. READING A BOOK AND SHARING IT WITH FRIENDS IS NOT WHAT EREADERS ENCOURAGE AND THIS TAKES THE JOY OUT OF SHARING AND SWAPPING BOOKS AS HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE CASE WITH THE WRITTEN PUBLISHED BOOK.
So I think I am going to give EREADERS a miss for the moment.
If anyone has anything positive to say about Sony EREADERS and the backup from Sony this might restore my faith in Sony.
Regards and thanks again

As an old computer hack it doesn't seem to me as if any ebook download sites are ready for the end user, nor is the software run on the computer to manage this. Nothing in my experience seems to hang together.
I tried a Kindle but had to return because it was incompatible with my router! I settled for the Sony to be somewhat disappointed by one book selling site in particular. Having decided to give them another chance things were not much better and because I can usually find my way around a computer manager to get the download to go"into" the Sony reader software.
I ended up with a number of duplicates and removed them from the Reader on the computer prior to connecting the PRS650 . I use a manual load which gives me better control.
I try wherever possible to use non DRM books and use software called calibre to manage these. Main problem with DRM is that it punishes the masses because of the few offenders and there seem to be ways to by pass DRM not that I recommend this.
It is with DRM sites using one particular interface that seems to be a big problem for me. I will in future try to support the DRM free sites which seem to be growing in number.
In terms of actual reading I like the recently acquired PRS 650. It has good capacity although I think the battery life could be a bit longer.
