At school we have five HRD-SR10 Handycams. They have been fantastic but two of them rest every time the battery is changed. The children are going out and filming and returning with SD footage (the resolution we use) and HD footage. Also the date defaults to 2008. Can anyone offer any solutions for this problem please.
Many thanks

Hi Trooper77, welcome to the Sony Forums
It sounds as if the cameras' built-in rechargable batteries may have been run down too far; they retain things like date info while the main battery is removed. If you're in the habit of swapping out batteries rather than charging them attached to the camera, the built-in battery will eventually become depleted.
Instead, if you plug the cameras in using an AC connector (with or without base stations) on a fairly regular basis, you shouldn't have the problem. Maybe consider using AC power while you replace the battery to prevent a reset, should you be unsure about the internal battery charge level.
Cheers
Mick
