Who do I turn to for help?

My handycam HC35E has worked well for 4 years but now will not close when I insert a tape. Unfortunately I never converted any of my 20 odd used tapes so I am now unable to use camcorder or watch all the tapes of my grandchildren growing up.

Jessops camera shop was no help at all just said it was not viable to have my camcorder repaired and wanted to sell me a new one

If you Google for Camcorder Repairs you will find many repairers who seem to speciallise in Sony products.  This may be your least expensive option.

Another possibility is to pick up a cheap replacement on eBay: -

Thanks Blencogo. I have now found my nearest Sony dealer which will mean a 60 mile round trip but will try that option first. Was hoping someone had had same problem and could tell me if it is viable to get it repaired before I waste petrol
