Sony DCR-HC96 does not turn on

Hi,

I have a Sony DCR-HC96 handycam. It was not used for some time (1 year). Now when I tried to turn it on, I could not. I connected the AC power, changed the battery, pusd the Reset button, but it did not help. Even the cassette compartment does not eject, even if the AC power is connected.

In the meantime, the red LED at the back is continuously blinking, even when the power button is in the OFF position.

Does anyoen have any idea?

Thanks

Hello peterv121 - Welcome to the Sony Forums

The blinking red light probably indicates that there is a serious internal fault within the camera and as such, a repair would be required. Due to the length of time that you have had the camera, you would need to find out the cost of such a repair and then decide whether it would be a feasible option.

If you contact Sony Customer Services, they may be able to give you an idea of what this will cost and then you could always try contacting other local independent business who offer repairs. To contact Sony, there are details available here:

Thanks,
