You do not say which Windows Operating System your Vaio is using?

The usual way with Windows 7 is to download Picture Motion Browser and connect using a USB cable.  You can download PMB from here: -

I think iLink is only compatible with Movie Shaker software but it may work with Windows Movie Maker.
