Handycam DCR-TRV14E on Windows 7 PC

I  cannot get my old handycam DCR-TRV14E to work on my new windows 7 64 bit pc anyone have a solution?

If you have no iLink port the best solution is to add one! :cool:

iLink/FireWire cards are quite cheap and easy to retro-fit if you have a spare slot in your PC.

Don't be tempted by (even) cheaper so-called adpator cables etc, they really don't work anywhere near as well.

On checking it appears that the original driver & software is not windows 7 64bit compatible..

Does your PC have a firewire (iLink) port.?

If so then you should be able to use this to use that as it states support page that your DCR-TRV14E is fully i.Link 64-bit compatible..

Mant thanks for your response. Unfortunately my PC does not have an iLink port, it only has USB, HDMI and VGA ports spare!

Is there some form of adaptor I can use or another solution?
