Hello gifron - welcome to the Sony Forums
If you are having difficulties getting this software to function correctly, you may find that a free capture alternative such as Windows Live Movie Maker 2011 will work well in Windows XP. This software allows you to capture the footage from the camcorder and then you can either edit it using the features of the software or export it to another video editing package.
The software itself is available from here:

Thanks,
Simon

Can someone tell me how to make my computer recognized it?
Hello again
Looking at your version of Windows XP, did you download the software from this exact link:
http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/DCR-HC53E/downloads/sids_win2
Simon
No, i clicked on: Lost your original software disc? Click here to download a new copy. Update now
http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/product/DCR-HC53E/downloads/download_manager
And followed the instructions until Step 2, 3rd point where I should click on start but there I got an error that device is not connected even I connect my camera via USB and turned it on.
