Hi all. Can anyone tell me how to turn off the internal microphone in my HDR-CX360, please?
I want to record video only with no audio but, yet again, technology has got the better of me.
I hope you can help.
Thank you, Andrew
PS This is my first time on this (or any other) forum so please be gentle!!

Hello Andrew - Welcome to the Sony Forums
Looking at some of the microphone settings that are on page 85 of the manual:
http://www.docs.sony.com/release/HDRCX360V-PJ10-PJ30V-PJ50V-XR160_handbook.pdf
It seems to be possible to turn the volume down to a lower level (Micref Level) and to also turn off the microphone after zooming in or out (Blt-In Zoom Mic). There isn't an overall feature to deactivate the microphone but if you transfer video to a computer for editing you will be able to mute the audio track with most video editing packages.
Thanks,
Simon

On cameras which feature a standard MIC in I think it is possible to mute aurio just by connecting a headphone to the MIC in.
But anyway using a video editor (even Windows Movie Maker) will allow you to mute the audio. PMB can not do this however.
Hi Simon. Thanks for your reply and kind words; much appreciated
Hi. What a good idea; I'll give it a try and report back
