WF-1000XM5 Case-Earbuds charging issue
Hello,
I would like the report what I believe is the first serious issue with Sony's last top-end ANC earbuds (WF-1000XM5).
Brand new pair of WF1000-XM5 received 24h ago.
Used for a couple of hours while working, going to the gym, out walking in the street. Working as intended.
In the evening: Charged fully before going to bed, then disconnected from USB cable and stored on the table.
This morning upon waking up :
- the case’s indicator LED is continuously flashing orange (once every 0.5s). Help page says (https://helpguide.sony.net/mdr/2963/v1/en/contents/TP1000781971.html) says it is "When an error occurs while charging and charging cannot be performed - - - - - - - - - - (repeatedly flashes slowly in orange with an interval of about 0.5 seconds)” which is pretty unhelpful.
- Also, upon opening the case, case’s indicator LED goes green, and upon taking out both earbuds and connecting them to my phone, Sony Headphone app reports: L:100%, R:100%: Case:26%.
=> The case has discharged on its own from 100% down to 26% while both earbuds stored in it were already fully charged. This leads me to think both earbuds have been sitting in the case for around 8h overcharging. This is not a good sign.
Please advise ASAP.

Hey @lgardent
Are you sure that the earbuds were fully charged when you placed them in the case?
Also, are using the original charger? Are you using a power socket or PC to charge the headset?
Can you try to change the power source and check again?
