Hi.
I've just bought a new Sony Bravia TV (KD-55XD9305) and an Onkyo receiver (TX-SR252).
Under the HDMI options on the Onkyo, I have a choice of 4k60p settings: either "4:4:4" or "4:2:0". The user manual suggests that the quality will be better with "4:4:4" if the TV is compatible. I've searched but can't find out whether my Sony TV is compatible or not.
My question: Which of these two settings should I choose on the Onkyo, and will there be a corresponding setting on the TV that I'll need to adjust?
Thanks in advance for any help. I didn't have to make decisions like this with my 18-year-old Trinitron TV that I've just got rid of, even though it still worked perfectly!

Hi there
The following two links should answer your question.
http://sony-eur-eu-en-web--eur.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/84291/
http://sony-eur-eu-en-web--eur.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/112975
Your TV has a 10bit panel, so suggest using 4:2:2 for 3840@60 Hz - you will need to set the HDMI to Enhanced in the settings - instructions on first link.
Congrats on making the move from CRT to LED/LCD Trinitrons were fantastic - but times have moved on.
Further info on what is called "Chroma Subsampling" can be found on this wikipedia article - its a heavy read though:
