v6.5629 increased brightness problem

Yesterday I updated my tv to v6.5629.I noticed immediatly the brightess is way up.

I reseted the picture settings and configured them from scratch. No matter what I select there is no option to decrease the brightness. The actual brigtness setting changes the brightness of the white color of the tv and not of the whole picture.

The main problem is when I watch a movie and the picture is dark, the whole picture suddently becomes extremely bright. If the movie shows a schene in the night automatically brightness kicks in and destroys the image.
I tested it in Netflix, Amazon, sdr and hdr content and in BD movies. The problem is more noticable if the room is dark.

Picture quality is very bad because of the increased brightness and it also effects contrast too.

Can I download the previous firmware and install it on my kd-43xd8305 tv?

Hi there,

Can you try a reset on your TV and see if this resolves this issue. More details on how to perform this here.

Also in answer to your question on previous firmware - to ensure that your TV remains at optimum performance, it's not possible to install an older software version once you have updated the TV.

Let me know how you get on.

Best wishes,

I reseted my tv but the problem remains, picture quality is the same as before.Too much brightness especially in dark schenes and sometimes the engine automatically adds more brighness in the picture and it washes out the colours.Propably this is a "smart" feature added to this firmware but it destroys the image quality.

At least give us the option to roll back until there is a fix/optimization.

Hi Labros7545,

I guess turning off the light sensor can help. You can do that from Home - Settings - Picture - Light Sensor.

Hope this helps.
