no seriously. Im getting absolutely wrecked by this message WHATEVER i try to do in the settings. Its insanely obnoxious to confirm OK every time this message popa up for every single thing i want to do. I dont care if the draws 90000000watts. I just want thks message to NEVER appear again! PLEASE HELP

Unfortunately, I have the same issue. I just got an 55XH90 a few days ago and this thing overshadows the TV's other positive capabilities.  😞

Dear Sony! Is there a way to disable this message or to downgrade the TV's software? This "feature" is really annoying! Please do something!

Sony has confirmed on their social accounts (Facebook and Twitter) that this isn't an issue, but many have replied complaining about it (giving negative feedback, asking for it to be removed or at least decreasing the frequency, etc..).

 

So maybe they'll do something in a future update since it seems like literally no one is fine with it from what I've seen over the last couple of days 🤷🏻‍♂️

Same issue, very annoying. KD55XH90, many issues with this TV, usb port fried my external HDD too, already needed to restart TV 5+ times, only had it for 24hrs, regretting the purchase, such a shame, nice pic, crap TV options and useless poor quality remote

I've got an old KDL-40HX723 which is on its last legs and was waiting for John Lewis to open so I can see the KE-48A9 OLED. As it looks like Sony have forced an EU backed update onto their non EU based UK TVs I might have to go for the LG CX (assuming they're not forcing the same update). It seems to be only Sony doing this at present but how mad to have to confirm the consumption message for EVERY picture setting!!!!

I had regret buying this TV after this annoying prompt came up and I thought that I should have bougth an LG CX or even a BX. But I found the corresponding EU regulation: Ecodesign for electronic displays... 

The section "2. Forced menu and set up menus" cleary states that user's confirmation must be requested in every power consumption related changes. So it seems every manufacturer must apply this into their products. So we are f.... 😞 This section of regulation is clear madness. We have to raise an objection against this regulation somehow.

Hate the latest update. I bought 2 Sony TVs (A9 & A8) for the picture and sound.. and the menu in-pic shortcuts so I didn’t annoy my wife when changing stuff about. I moved from Panasonic which was a big decision.  So about a month after getting 2 great TVs and being v happy, this update is imposed on us all.

 

I hate the power consumption message on everything I generally want to do, I’m not a child and my power consumption is up to me. I’m paying the bill ***** 

BIG mistake and I’m now Looking at other brands

Hi guys, as far as I understand after investigating this matter, contacting Sony, reading the regulations, it's not only forced by the EU, and the UK is not part of the EU argument is invalid now. It's forced by the UK law.

I have the same problem! I talked to them and I'm constantly lying that it solves the problem! SONY is fooling the world! In the store they have factory firmware and then when you get home it updates and you stay miserable !!! From the top came the most miserable! The population must be warned, they are making fun of us! NEVER BUY SONY TV !!! Post the reality about them everywhere, especially on trustpilot, facebook, instagram, twitter, etc! Help people not to have headaches and not to get nervous !!!

I have recorded conversations, I can prove how liar they are !!! A lady from Basingtoke, England I spoke to on the phone told me to send her the receipt. I was fooled and lied to !! another person from Basingtoke, England I spoke to, promised me that the next day I would have the solution in the email !!! No answer, I called again and they came with n reasons as in the other conversations !!! SONY IS NO LONGER WHAT IT WAS, IS OF ALL SHAME !!! IF YOU DON'T WANT A HEADACHE, AVOID, RUN FROM THEIR PRODUCTS !!!
