Sony KD-55AF9 output normal HDMI audio from ARC

I may be not really understanding the ARC setup, but is it possible to simply output the audio from one of the TV HDMI as a normal audio or audio/video? probably use the ARC output to connect to non ARC input external audio system.

Hi again.

The only audio you can get out of a TV over HDMI is the ARC (Audio Return Channel) signal from the HDMI port marked ARC.

And for the TV to send this, it will first handshake with the device on the other end of the ARC HDMI, and ask if it can handle ARC. Unless the receiving device says yes, and means it, the ARC signal will not be sent.
