Hello, I just got a new nice Sony Bravia and its working about 90% as expected, unfortunately the one massive hole that isnt working is Netflix, and that is what my wife would use 100% of the time.
So, I also use Youtube, Disney + and Plex and all three of them have no issues. Work full resolution and without any issues. The TV is connected by ethernet and its only Netflix that kicks up a fuss. To make it more awkward, it will work for ten minute intervals just fine and then revert back to the last area you were so its not easy to trouble shoot it.
This is a 2021 tv so when following other topics not everything is the same, I cant find and disable Samba TV for example, but I also dont know if it is active or not. I've uninstalled and stopped several apps that just to make sure too and I've running out of ideas that would cause this issue. My previous TV didnt have any of these problems and when doing internet checks it seems happy with the results.
Any ideas would be really appreciated as this tv may have to return if this cant be sorted.
Edit: about 3 weeks in now with the same issues but I feel I could bundle the issue together. A prime example of this is any app from my phone connecting to the TV will connect for ten mins or so and then just drop off. I have tried this with several apps and they all do the same thing.
Weirdly, and this is the biggest clue I can give is with PLEX, if I run it through the TV app it works fine without fail. But if I start it up through my phone, it will disconnect.

Okay. I have the answer to fix this issue, and I imagine it will fix a lot of similar issues to it too. At least, for now this has worked 100% and I've watched 2 films without any dropping.
To start with, I'm still experimenting with this. I've not tried remote connections with Plex through my phone for example. The tests have worked directly using the apps installed via the play store.
So, how did I fix this issue?
I was requested to factory settings my TV and go through the install process again but this time, SKIP adding my google account. This seemed a little odd because once you get through setup to add Disney + or playstore you need to login again.
So I think the issue is something to do with the completing the installation before adding your account to it. At least, that is what has worked so far. I dont watch loads of TV so for all I know it may still be broken but its positive signs for now.
I'm currently experiencing the same issue on my KD-49XH9505.
I have tried stopping and starting the Netflix app, clearing the app cache, logging out and in, unplugging the tv and waiting for a minute before restarting; nothing has yet resolved the issue. All other streaming services work perfectly and there is no issue with the speed of my internet connection - Netflix check says circa 90 Mbps.
Not sure what else to try?
Couple more days on and I'm none the wiser.
Oddly, I have PLEX on the tv. Works fine when I play through it. But if I play Plex from my phone streamed to the TV it will quit after ten minutes or so. Very interesting.
Few things still to test. For example, I have a nighthawk router that is quite keen to block things it sees as spam so I've disabled the armour feature it comes with.
Hi shscrut,
Can you try to test Netflix with different internet connection (personal hotspot of smartphone for example)
Netflix is stable and does not crash when streamed on my PC...
Hi cordyk,
I understand, i was not discussing the speed of the internet, i was talking about changing the internet connection completely to check the WIFI connection of this TV.
Netflix crashes whether connected via wifi or LAN...
Yea, it will always crash. Weird how it will crash after 2 minutes all the way to 20. It makes no difference but everything else works fine.
LAN and WiFi from the same access point wouldn't make a difference if the network is causing the crash/issue, try connecting to a hotspot from your phone and see how that goes.
