Having always used a Humix device to record in the past, this has now given up the ghost. What else can I use to set up programmes to record on my TV
Are you aware your TV is capable of recording to USB HDD.
See the TV instructions. This service is limited though
and nowhere near as flexible as a dedicated PVR.
Humax still make the Aura.
Manhattan recently released the T4R alba it with only 2 tuners.
And Panasonic make DVD/ HDD player recorders.
On one of our Sony Android TVs we record using an HDD and on the other we have a Humax Aura. Neither alternative is without problems. Both TVs often have to be restarted or the device disconnected and reconnected in order for the TV to gain access to the device. Recordings on the HDD often show details for the preceeding programme. The Humax doesn't suffer from this problem and it does allow simultaneous recording of more than one programme.
Does anyone have experience of using the more recently released Manhattan T4-R with a Sony Android TV?.
The Panasonic DMR-BWT850 HDD Freeview recorder also has a Blu-ray recorder but is more expensive at £449.00 and is showing it's age, eg it doesn't have the ITVX app.
Any Humax YouView box will do the job, except for the old DTR-T1000, and can be cheaply found on eBay or CeX.
The newer the better though so my list, most desirable first, is Box Pro, DTR-T4000, DTR-T2xxx (BT), DTR-T2000 (YouView).
