I wish to stop the information banner from being displayed at random times whilst watching TV etc on my XG9005.
After searching around, I found out that prior to this latest update (v6.7140) that you could enter the menu:
Home > Settings > Channel Setup > Info Banner > OFF and disable the notification.
There must be a way to achieve this under the latest firmware, as it is spoiling my viewing experience and is becoming a major annoyance!!
Any suggestions gratefully received 😀

Good News!!!!
Sony have just released a new firmware v.6.7165 which I installed yesterday, and so far all seems good 😀
There is now an option to turn off the banner display (under watching TV if I remember right) and no display came up all evening, and hdmi control seems to work better now. 👍🏻
Hi @warlord01. Yes it is still in the settings and if I remember right more prominent. If was the first thing I did after the upgrade. I am no where near my TV at the moment but maybe under Watching TV.
Hi @LightFoot, and VMT for your reply.
I have had a good look about and cannot find that setting, and have seen on another forum that it has been removed 😞
The only item I have come across is to hide the various inputs which is not what I'm after.
I did see that someone suggested switching to TV sound and then back to receiver, which I have done, and it has dropped the frequency of the banner being displayed to 2~3 times this evening, but it would be nice to stop it completely!
Anyone? This is driving me nuts!
Hi
I think the feature to remove the info banner was removed. It used to be in the Channel setup menu.

Hi,
If you go to 'Settings', then click on 'Watching TV', 'Info Banner' is now the second option, just under 'Channels'.
Hope that helps!
That option is not there for me - Sony Support advised this is being investigated - it is pretty annoying.
Hi, what's the model that you own? try to force the external device to always output the same audio format (PCM) if you can and let me know if it worked.
Hi,
Model is KD49XG9005.
Connected through Arc (HDMI3) to Denon AVR along with ATV4k and Cable box.
I have amended Digital Audio Out in Settings from Auto 1 to PCM and will update if this resolves the issue.
Thanks for the advice
As a follow up to the above, by changing audio output from Auto 1 to PCM, won’t that affect Dolby Atmos etc?
