Gray dot on Sony Bravia KD-55X89J display

Hi there.

I noticed a gray dot in the middle of display after guarantee expired with 7 days.

Can I do something, or not, or it`t not worth it.

Thanks.

Could you check to see if you have accidentally set the Picture Mode to Game.

Settings button on remote control> scroll right to Picture Mode.

When in Game mode the screen can display a crosshair and one of the options for crosshair

is a gray dot.

Whilst in Game Mode you can switch the crosshair off by pressing the 123/ menu button on the remote and

clicking on Crosshair and set to off.

If you do not want to change any of your Game mode Crosshair settings you can simply change Picture Mode to

Standard or whichever mode you normally watch TV with.

Okay so thanks for the picture.

This rules out the TV being in Game Mode.

The darker patch on your screen could have been caused by applying pressure to the screen,

is there  possibility that someone may have pressed the screen while cleaning or moving the TV?

More probably it is an indication of something Calle the dirty screen effect which LCD panel are prone to.

Unfortunately if you are out of warranty there may be very little you can do.
