Lens firmware update 70-200 GM2 and 100-400GM

Hi

I've updated my A1 to 1.35 but held off going to 2.0 because it was withdrawn before I got around to it.

With V2.01 now available I thought I should update my lenses first.

I've downloaded both firmware updates:

Update_SEL70200GM2V4D

Update_SEL100400GMV6D

When I run them with exactly the same setup used to perform other updates they both fail on first step to connect with camera. I'e followed the instructions to the letter in the correct order. I can see the camera on the PC explorer windows and in the task bar.

When I run the 1.35 camera update again to verify the connection the software very quickly informs me that the camera is already at this level. I didn't wan to test the 2.01 v to perform this test.

So I conclude that the camera is being found by the camera update software but not the lens update software.

Does anyone have any advice for me please?

Of course many times. It is suggested that v1.35 is a half way house and may work when going to full update at 2.01. 
I will have to try that. Just hope it doesn’t break my camera!!
