After the security update for May (70.1.A.3.188), my phone will only connect to 2G networks, making it useless. i have tried selecting network configurations in the system menu and the dialer menu, but neither work; it will briefly connect to a 5G network then revert back to 2G.
It's mid August and Sony Mobile still hasn't fixed this critical bug.
My Xperia 10 vi global model has been unusable on T-mobile
here in US for 3 months.
Please fix this issue.
I miss using the phone.
I don't have this problem (I'm in the UK) but I am distressed that neither the "community" nor the company have anything to say about a very serious issue.
i contacted Sony directly about this and was blown off. They have apparently wholesale abandoned the American market.
September/70.1.A.3.263 is live and it didn't fix it.
i have experimented and found i can make network settings changes to get 5G data or make 2G calls, but not both simultaneously and the settings have to be reset after every phone call. i don't think VoLTE is working, which severely limits phone use.
Barring Sony fixing this for the handful of affected American gray market users, i do believe this phone is now a media device only.
I now have stable 5G data on my 10 vi (XQ-ES72).
However, I can't make and receive calls. When a call comes in, it goes to voicemail. When I try to make a call, it drops and doesn't go through.
SMS works both for sending and receiving.
In the phone setting menu, voice call says "In Service."
But making/receiving calls is not working.
Another user on T-Mobile US network downgraded his 10 vi to the firmware 70.1.A.0.425 (Android 15's initial release version) and the phone is working fine again.
First, unlock the bootloader and once it's done, use XperiFirm and NewFlasher to flash the firmware.
I haven't tried myself.
