Xperia 1 VI Bluetooth track info issue

Since the update to 69.1.A.2.160 track and artist information no longer displays on Bluetooth devices. Prior to the update this was working.

I have tried using developer options to change the AVRC version but no of them seem to work any more. Each time I tried I would unpair, reboot and re-pair.

Please can this be checked by QA and if the update did break it can it be fixed please.

This is strange, the latest update fixed my issue, all controls and display are now working. It might be worth making a new thread with the specific make and model of vehicle stereo you are using.

Hello, with the most recent update, I've noticed similar comments regarding the Xperia 1 VI's track information problem. It sounds very much like Bluetooth information is being affected by a firmware bug. The first thing I would do is to check again for any small updates or patches from Sony, since they may be releasing a remedy shortly. Although it's a bit severe, you may attempt a complete reset of your Bluetooth settings in the interim, or even a factory reset if you're feeling adventurous, to see if that helps. Contacting Sony support or looking through community forums for any new solutions is definitely worthwhile. I hope a fix is released soon!

Hi @MReedUK,

You can try the below steps to fix the missing artist information for the Bluetooth:

1. Restart your phone and Bluetooth device by turning them off and on again.

2. Forget the Bluetooth device (unpair), then pair again.

3. Check if the paired device profile is set up to share all information, click on the Bluetooth profile for the connected device, and change the contact sharing to (all information).

4. To reset the networking settings, you can type in the search bar in the settings app (reset network settings), and you will reset all networks, like (Wi-Fi, mobile data, and Bluetooth).

If any of the above didn't resolve the issue, you should create a backup for the phone and connect the phone to a computer and use the Xperia Companion application to reform a software repair.

You can learn more about how to create a backup and the download link for the Xperia Companion from here: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/00243159, and how to perform software repair on the Xperia Companion from here: https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/support/articles/SX604601

I am having the same problem, since the latest major update to 69.2.A.2.30.

No matter what I try, the problem remains. I cannot skip tracks or pause music using the car stereo, on either Spotify or YouTube Music.

I have carried out all the suggested resolutions. This includes, factory reset and software repair through Xperia Companion.

A fundamental error exists in this software, as the problem only started after this update.

I have experienced the same issue.

My current workaround in the BMW is to use the AUX input and disable Bluetooth audio in the vehicle’s settings while keeping the phone connected for calls. This allows phone functionality to remain active, though music cannot be controlled through the car.
