Battery Care feature after Android 10 Update

Prior to Android 10 I'd usually get a Battery Care notification when plugging in to charge overnight.  My battery care settings are ON and set to 'Auto'.

Since Android 10 (USA release) I have not gotten any battery care notifications even though I continue to charge over night and about the same time each night.  It's as if the auto learn feature is not working.  I'm using the Sony USB PD charger and cable that came with the phone.

Anyone else seeing this?

If you have been over 4 weeks on Android 10, it seems like you are running a custom rom as the official ones were deployed only approx 2 weeks ago for the Xperia 1.Smiling_Face_with_Sunglasses

Could it be something in that custom rom you are running that mess up the feature?

RuneJ,

You are right.  I guess time flies when you are having fun ... ha!    NO Custom ROM, just seemed like it was that long since I got the update.  I'm in the USA on AT&T and installed it as soon as I received notification. Don't know the exact date.  Edited my post accordingly.

Yepp, time flies.Smiling_Face_with_Sunglasses

When I think of it, I have actually never seen any notification for the Battery Care feature (mine also set to Auto). -Neither on Android 9 or 10.

This could be due to that I have no particular time that I charge the phone, I just put it to charge when low every other day or so.

Cannot find any settings either for enable/disable notifications for the Battery Care either, so perhaps it is gone in Android 10?

I got official software update and I never saw battery care as well. And my charging routines are the same

As I also have USB connection problems when I try to charge I believe there is an issue in android 10 update about battery.

RuneJ,

Notification options are there ... Settings, Apps (Show All), Show System, Battery Care.

Seems the 'auto' learn mode is not working.  I got battery care notification nearly all the time prior to Android 10.

Maybe you're right.

Keep testing.

Don't expect anything to happen on short term.

It's Xmas time, few people are working these days.

Just checked; In my phone the show notification and show notification during charging are greyed out/seems always on. Still have never seen any notification either in Android 9 or 10, so it is a bit strange.

Although I have never missed the notification, it should be possible to turn off if it shows in some cases.

I guess my concern is not whether notifications are appearing or not, but how do you determine if battery care is actually functioning if you are not getting a notification that it is doing so?
