Z5 OTG support?

My old Z3 had awesome on the go support but my new Z5 has nothing. Am I missing something simple? or is it just unsupported. If so its a bit of a let down.

My Z5 doesn't see my OTG usb. I read on a website that formating the usb is a solution but i never tried it. Does anybody have another idea. My old sony reads it with no problem.

@rossoneri2000 Just drag the quick settings bar and use detect USB.

XPERIA Z3 PLUS has also problem after updating Android 6.1, when I connect OTG Pen drive or pen drive through OTG connector, the device doesn't show the memory in the storage, until reboot the device.
Is there anyone can solve the problem that after connecting pen drive on otg port it shouldn't be re start the device...

My phone does not detect a USB stick.

I have tried the same OTG cable and USB stick on a LG g2 and it is working fine.

My phone has never been in contact with water and i also used the usb detection shortcut with no lack.

I even did a clean install with Xperia Companion on firmware 32.2.A.0.253

I see the same issue here /t5/Xperia-Z5-Z5-Compact-Z5-Premium/xperia-z5-premium-OTG-problem/m-p/1120824/highlight/true#

and that not all Card reader can be read anymore

It works with Z5 Compact but note that Z5 will not detect a USB device automatically when you plug it in. You need to go to Settings -> Device connection -> USB Connectivity -> Detect USB device.

It will also detect USB devices during boot so in case the touch is not working you can plug a mouse in, turn the phone off and then on again.

There is a problem surely with some combination of OTG and / or USB Stick in my opinion.

Reboot with the OTG+Stick attached is not working also.

I hope the Nougat update will fix such issues too.

Reboot the phone with an USB keyboard plugged. That worked with me. (Z5)
