Hey everyone. I bought an unlocked Xperia Z5 Compact about 6 months ago, but I'm having issues with Group Texting.
In Group Messages, I cannot download message texts from certain contacts. I recieve a notification "You have an MMS to download" followed shortly after by "Message could not be downloaded. Please try again at a later time." (that may not be word-for-word).
While I am receiving these notifications, I am still received texts from other group members in the same Group Message.
To make it more interesting, I can recieved pictures/video/etc from these certain contacts in the Group Message. I only seem to not be able to download their plain text messages.
Please let me know what I may need to fix, as I love this phone, but this is a deal-breaker for me and if I can't fix it within a month then I'll have to switch to a Galaxy Active.
Which phone are they using?
Hey uliwooly!
Apologies, work got hectic so I had to forget about this for a week.
I thought about the same thing, they are both using a Samsung Galaxy 7...so I'm guessing Samsung has some coding that my phone doesn't pick up, resulting in a failed download?
Hope all is well.
Hi all.
I am in the US using an unlocked International-edition Xperia Z5 compact and am on a family AT&T "unlimited" (20GB/mo) plan.
My phone refuses to download group texts specifically from Samsung Galaxy S6 and later users (haven't found an S5 to work with, but I do get group texts from S3 & S4 users). If a friend using an S6/7 texts the group, I will simply receive a notification that I have an MMS to download, followed shortly by an error stating something along the lines of "Could not download MMS. Please try again at a later time."
I will still receieve group texts from everyone else in the group.
I receive pictures and videos perfectly fine (whether through group texts or in individual conversations) from all phone users, including Samsung Galaxy S6 & S7 users.
I have tried both manually entering in APN settings as well as downloading Internet settings. Anything else I should try (possibly even flash my device?)
