Z5 compact running really slow?????

I've bought the Sony Xperia z5 compact and have been using it as my daily driver since Monday. It's running really slow even slower than z3 compact I double checked I have the latest software ( and I do) but it's still running slow I dint keep many apps open but when switching between even 2 or 3 apps there's a quite noticeable lag which shouldn't be there I don't think considering the specs. Even opening stock apps can be leggysometimes like the messages app or dialer. As you can imagine I'm pretty disappointed, as I traded in myself phone to get this one. In also seen a YouTube video of a guy having the same issue. If anyone has any solutions in appreciate it much. Thanks in advanced!

Your phone may need to clean memory

You can use clean master to do it

I've had clean master before and didn't make a difference... I'll try again but the phone doesn't even have a month. It shouldn't be like this. Mor over it behaves the same way right after a reset.

I deactivated "Photo Analyzer Service" and the camera seems faster now. However the Album app keeps misbehaving. It hasn't crashed the last days, but it can't keep Spotify open while checking pictures. It eventually starts lagging and then kills Spotify, before being usable again. I can run Spotify while checking pictures with Google Photos, downloading them from the GoPro or doing anything else without a problem, so it's clearly a bug in Album app.

Could someone from Sony take a look at it? Or anybody check if they have this issue too? Just run Spotify in background and check and delete pictures in Album app for 5 or 10 minutes...
Thanks!

My Z5 compact was lagging big time also. What worked for me was going into Developer options and select "Disable HW Overlays". Once I did that lag instantly blew away. The camera still take several seconds to fire up though...

I've been using xperia z5 premium for two months now &experiencing the same exact problem.
At first it wasn't big deal, but it became so annoying lately, I can't even use some regular apps. Even when playing songs in the background, it cuts off for one sec every now and then. I Used z2 for two years &never had such issues, even when it was full spaced it runs smoothly.

well, I am also disappointed with this phone.. even my oldest z1c is faster .. the z3c is like lightning bolt comparing with z5c.. I have done every steps mentioned in this topic and none of the tricks helped to cure this deadly disease of sony.. I have the latest version of fw 32.0.A.6.200 ... phone, contacts, SMSs, all the basic apps are very laggy.. and the most laggy app is.. Camera ... sorry for my language, but W...T..F...  ???

I hope there will be significant update in firmware soon or I take steps as try other brand.. But It will be painfull, because sony was the very best smartphone brand in the world until the z5c happend..

Sorry guys, but this is the cruel reality.. I am not going to push guys from support to hurry up releasing the cure of sony z5c(ancer), but please, release a lagless firmware... Be the best brand in the world again.. You can do it. I believe in you Sony IT magicians..

I am facing the same issues from the time I have bought this. Initially it was heating up, n slow performance. Then I got a update and heating reduced but device is slowwww. All apps take 5-10 seconds to load up when changing or switching

Hate to pile up on the negative, but I've been experiencing the very same lag issues mentioned all through this post. Phone is snappy on boot but after using it for a bit everything becomes supper laggy. Apps take seconds to open and phone is just slow. My Z3 is way way faster than this, which is sad. Camera startup is a joke and so is the fingerprint scanner compared to everyone else.

I've noticed that if you clean all app with the app manager things become snappy again for a bit, so it does seem like a memory management issue, memory leak or so.

The fact that Sony has let this bug standing for so long since the Z5 release convinces me not to buy into Sony anymore. It's beyond ridiculous that their 'flagship' phone has glaring issues that don't get fixed for so long. Have high hopes for Marshmallow but we will see.

I ended up buying another phone (Galaxy S6) and I'm using that instead now. I still have the Z5 compact, but if the Marshmallow update (due in a few days, March 7th was estimated) doesn't speed it up then I'll be selling it. Interestingly, my brother has a Z5 compact as well, but his seems to run fine (similar speed to the Z3 compact) - I wonder if it's an issue with a batch of devices.

Very good news !

I recieved the official Android 6.0 Marshmallow update today, il solved the problems !

No more laggy frames or slow multitasking now, I re-descover my phone ! The heating has also reduced (it has never been a problem).

The camera is still a bit long (2s) to launch but it is still a lot more snappy than before...

Definitely better late than never !

I just got the update as well yesterday. Yeah everything speed up by I would say 25% which is of course good and haven't experienced much heating the whole day by about 50% (just an approximate guess). The camera I agree with you SquirFly is right around 1.5 to 2 seconds. As much as I love the compact series (had the z1c) previously, this whole experience gave me a bad taste in my mouth for Sony. I really like underdogs (of course the quality and supposedly best camera review by Dxomark which ultimately led me to upgrade) but this time even I would say that my z5c improve by 60%, I'd reserved an s7 Galaxy. If I would really love the s7, I'd still not sell my z5c but put it on display in my shelve to remind me once I fell in love with Sony but it go the way of the dodo.
