My little brother's Xperia Z3 just died today, or at least that's what he thinks and I'm trying to repair it. Symptoms:
1.Quick discharge from 90% to offline in about 10 to 20 minutes.
2. When connected to a wall charger, red led and shows low battery screen then shuts down and boots up again. This loops infinitely.
2.1. When pressing power/power + vol+ nothing happens.
2.2. When interupted by pressing the yellow button under the mSD card vibrates three times before entering the loop again.
2.3. I managed to somehow stop this maddness by pressing power + vol- and made the led on front glow blue (constant glow, not flashing). Seems inconsistent when I can put it into such state or not and how. This is completly negated by resetting with yellow button under mSD and the phone enters loop again.
3. When connected to my PC (Windows 10, if that helps), led turns red-offline-red-lighter red-offline. Windows plays the sound notif. of USB device being plugged in and out if I disconnect it.
3.1 Sometimes (couldn't catch any consistent events to it aside from time periods between 30 sec to 3 minutes) the device unplugs itself (Windows plays notif. sound), displays the red led and low battery and shuts down. Then Windows again plays the USB plug notif. sound. PC Companion doesn't seem to fully connect to it. It sometimes detects it, and sometimes doesn't, no metter if I follow the instructions on the screen or not (Repair and selecting undetected device checkbox).
3.2 I managed to connect the Companion to the phone and initialize the repair, but it didn't progress by any for two hours so I canceled it, Companion almost immediately came back to the main menu.
The phone doesn't have any mSD card in it, just SIM. Any ideas what might be causing this and perhaps how to hix it?
