Xperia Z5 compact, Should I feed it some MARSHMALLOW?

Hello! It's been so long since My Xperia P got stolen and My Xperia S got hard bricked

By this Month, I have my Savings again to buy my favorite Xperia Phones again

since I've been using iPhone's and currently an Abandoned Nokia Lumia 520

Getting to the Subject

I visit my near Sony Mobile Centre which they say(The sales man) they'll sell nor If I buy an Xperia Z5 compact,

I will receive the phone with the Lollipop version out of the box and they wouldn't recommend me updating it to Marshmallow yet;

Reading the forums here makes me conclude that Marshmallow really is buggy, even the camera

and Once again, I will ask , should I really update to 6.0? or wait for a stabilized Marshmallow?

and One thing, Since I don't have the budget to buy the Normal Z5, Should I wait and buy the Xperia X instead?

not the Xperia X-Performance, cuase yeah, I can't even afford to buy a Normal Z5.

My z5 compact works better with Marshmallow than with lollipop, generally speaking. It has a big flaw with FM radio though, but it is not generalized among all phones so, I guess, it is more like a lottery. Anyway it should be fixed in upcoming updates.

My camera works pretty well, so it is battery life too, and I have no problems with USB OTG (which is another general complaint).

Headphone sound is way better with Z3c than in Z5c, although is good in the latter too.

Fingerprint is somewhat clumsy: to give you an idea my iPad never miss a shot, whereas Z5c works one time out of four approximately.

Wifi and broadcast signals are usually strong.

I performed the lollipop to marshmallow upgrade via bridge for Mac first with an upgrade+memory wiping, then via repair to be sure to have no leftovers from preceding OS level. Occasionally I do a cache cleaning and cache partition wiping.

Xperia X has no Fm radio and no 4K video recording so, if you're up to those things, it may not fit you needs. If you run on budget Z3 compact is a great device still.

For me bigest problem after upgrade is bad broadcast signal. With lolipop was no problem very good signal g4+ almost all the time, and now phone lost signal very often. Switched to wcdma/gsm still call problems. very disappointed

you might be confusing the 6.0.1 update of the z2 and z3 phone vs the 6.0 update for z5 series problems here in the forum.

I have the z5c, and i agree it is better that 5.1.1

very snappy, heats easily though but also cools fast.

if you where to choose a device, always go for the flagship, or close to one, flagship means longer and more focused support and updates.,

Xperia z5c is a nice compromised between z5 series and the x series imo.

Another Question about the Finger Print Scanning, Does the latter occur to the Normal Xperia Z5 and Z5 Premium?

Are there any remedies or tricks to lower the chances of unrecognized finger print?

and wow, thanks for your detailed Info, I already finalize my plans on buying a Z5 compact,

I'm not Into Z3 and Z3 compact, I'm sticking to a Z5's flagship that can have a major update to Android N,

Z3+ is out of the question cause they aren't selling it here in the Philippines.

About the fingerprints you can try to slightly move your finger, while recording the image, between one scan and another.

Besides that if you clean the finger on your clothes, when there is some skin oil, it will always be recognized. The phone always ask for the unlock keycode if it doesn't get the fingerprint correctly.

If you buy the Z5c, I suggest you the Ringke Fusion cover. We have it for both my wife's z3c and mine z5c. It does a great job. It is hard on the back but soft on the side so to absorb and distribute the impact stress. Plus, it is molded to cover volume rocker and camera button but leaving them fully useable.

Check it out because it's really good: http://www.ringke.com/site/brand.php?id=3&item=98
