After updating my Sony Xperia Z5 Compact to android 7.0 Nougat, a lot of applications are experiencing force closes. Also, the Google Play Store shows a blank main windows and can't update anymore any application.
I would like to revert to android 6.x

You can try disabling PlayStore(Settings=>Apps=>PlayStore=>Disable) - this will replace the application with the factory version. Clear the cache and data. Restart the device. PlayStore should work now.

i didn't try to disable the Google Play Store, however the version installed by the update is the latest one available by Google, so probably there's no possible downgrade. The version is "7.6.08.N-all [0] [PR] 149245622". I tried even deleting the data and cache for the app but no luck, just opened and kept there showing the home screen white.
I don't know if the fact that device is encrypted can play a role.
In any case, I just make a factory reset, and now everything seems to work fine so far so good. Probably lots of incompatibilities between different apps, system settings and so on so forth. I know upgrading is very difficult. Hope that if android 7.1 or 7.2 updates come to Sony Xperia, at least is not that drastic the change.
In any case, I'm thankful to Sony for at least updating the software of their devices, other brands just leave you with the old version.

When you disable PlayStore it is automatically downgraded to factory version. And gets back back to normal operation in my case. This saved me from having to reset the device.
My phone tends to experience blank screen PlayStore after nearly every reboot.
Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, I already formatted the phone so can't test it, but I will consider is as solution.
