It overheats (yes that does matter because the perfomance of the phone is reduced - quite a bit)

Speaking of performance, it's laggy.  I've never seen such a laggy phone since Android was new.  My guess this is the overheating and the processor throttling performance

The Marshmallow update made the phone drive itself in your pocket.  I've had to turn off all sorts of settings to reduce it, including the fingerprint sensor which became too sensitive and somehow woke up the phone will screen was turned off.  It happened in my hand.

This makes all the buttons press in your pocket, flashlight turns on, airplane mode, brightness goes on full etc.  This didn't happen before Marshmallow and yes I've done a full factory reset.

Can feel the screen is loose in one corner.  Sony is supposed to have a superior build.  This is my third sony.

It takes ages to boot.  Way longer than any other phone

The speaker in the phone has lost it's quality during phone calls.  I'm not sure if this is after the update or if it's a hardware failure.

If I run the Grid computing app it throttles due to overheating and ultimately performs about 1/10th of the Z3.

On the plus side, the speakers are an improvement over the Z3 I had for audio, it's great not to have a flap over the USB port and it's good to see it moved to the bottom.  The camera software is better in the Marshmallow update (in terms of startup speed).

The trouble with this kind of problem is the service centres usually don't possess people that can understand your issues properly.  This forum is littered with overheating comments, when it's known this is a poorly chipset that overheats.  I'll have to give up my phone for weeks and as a result of that I'll get a 'nothing wrong' along with it having being opened and causing the water fastness to reduce.  If they do fix it, you probably get a refurb, you can't win.

What I'd really like to do is take it back to the shop and ask for a return.  I'd rather go back to the Z3, it was a far superior phone.

This phone is not fit for purpose really.

But I feel the camera from them are always best in class. My significance in a phone would be a camera. They gave me with 6-months brand warranty and 12 months seller warranty. Hope everything goes on well.

Thanks all for their suggestions
