xperia z1 wifi issue

Hello,

My xperia z1 seems to have a wifi issue. My wifi router works fine with my laptop.

Wifi router brand - Binatone

Security type: WPA-PSK

It connects on restart. Plz advise.

Also few suggestions on Andriod features on xperia:

1) It doesnt have any means of grouping and saving the SMS's. Does it ? Plz comment.

2) Is there a way to assign ringtones to contact groups?

Plz let me know if any info is needed.

I also face the same issue even after upgrading to Kit Kat. When contacted sony they guide to change the security type instead of accepting the issue!!

Ridiculous!

Screenshot_2014-03-24-23-18-55.pngI have the same problem, I was running 4.3 and now on 4.4.2, I changed my nexus 5 for this phone and I am actually starting to regret it., I am right next to the router and I still have the same issue.

I tried a different router and the same issue persist.

Different brand, and I have tried channels from 1-11 and it happens the same.

Service center technicians not ready to accept the problem.

I literally had to fight with them to make them understand. Took my test router, showed them the problem. I showed the behaviour with my Samsung phone as well.

Very difficult. Losing the hopes on Sony phones.

Yes, every retailer denies the Wi-Fi problems. I consider my phone like it has no Wi-Fi at all. Unless I am RIGHT NEXT to the Router it has terrible reception. It's a hardware problem, software won't fix their crappy hardware.

It's hardware problem ,caused by the aluminium frame in the z2 they add some plastic to improve the signal reception.

Changing my 802.11 Band frequency from 2.4 Ghz to 5Ghz worked for me. (Xperia Z1 Compact)
