XPeria Z only charges with Display off, discharges if on

Hello,

I have an Xperia Z and the problem it only charges with Display off.

I have an car charger showing Amps going into the phone and with Diplay Off + Idle about 1.4 Amps going into.

When I switch the Display on the amps go down to 0.6

When I navigate with google maps the phone even discharges slowly with that 0.6 Amps, I can switch the Display off  having only turn messages speaking and the Amps go up to around 0.8 at least not discharging.

Off course this is not very practicable, since I can't navigate and have a charges Phone at the destination or the phone even dies low on charge when navigating even car charger connected.

Please don't start with try another charger it is clearly a problem of the phone, it doesn't take charge display on and cpu loaded.

If it doesn't charge the batterie when hot ok, but at least it should take so much current the battery isn't discharged.

If you are unwilling to try another charger then it would be difficult to identify the real cause of the problem.  I suggest that you have your device checked at the local service center http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/contactUs/

I was asked if an answer is a solution, and no none off course.

But may be my amps figures help somebody to solve the XPeria Z charging problem.

Hi,

my Xperia Z freezes for some seconds often last times, I allready freed about 2GB of storage and have a 200GB SD-Card 18GB free.

I wouldn't like to reset all and loose contacts and data.

May be there are better things to try first.

Can I make a backup, reset, restore?

Or what else to try before.

My charging issues was present before the freezes issues, but I think freezed it takes more current and thats why the decharging has worsened also.

I use a lot of Apps and suffer from the only 16GB storage and having to copy apps to sdcard on every update.

May be I give Cyagenomod a try when not on the road for some days.

I am sorry to hear about this.

Can you please test your phone in safe mode and see if the same issue persists?
