Well, I'm using xperia link to connect my sony z3 tablet to my sony z5 smartphone and sharing my internet connection (tethering). Up to now, I was able to connect my sony tablet to sony z5 just by starting xperia link app on my tablet, without touching phone. But, after updating my Z5 to 7.1.1 this is not possible anymore. Only way to connect tablet to phone with xperia link is to start, firt of all , tethering function on my z5, otherwise, tablet will not connect to phone and will not tether. (although tethering fuction seems to start on z5, but never connects).
