Video copied to PC

I have copied my movies etc to my pc, all works fine, but when i burn same movies to a disc and play it on my TV the movies all play on the side. The pictures are fine just the movies. i have done the same from a digital camera and all of them run perfectly.  I have tried changing resolution on all devices but to no avail...... any help please would be appreciated. If you want to stream videos, you might want to consider Chromecast, it's quite simple to use.

You probably need a program on your PC to rotate de videos, most likely your computer rotate the portrait videos to landscape

Thank you for your reply, but when i open the videos to burn to cd,,, they appear fine on the computer,, it is not until i watch them on the tv that the problem is noticed,,, so would have to burn first, then rotate and burn again,,,mmm,,, seems like a lot of messing around,,,, but will keep that in mind,,, Cheers

i firstly would like to thank anyone trying to assist me,,, second, i have now completely isolated the problem to the sony xperia z3 compact,,, as videos taken with other devices work perfectly well on PC or TV. I was told i could get a MHL cable/adapter to show straight from the mobile to the TV, which is fine,, but still does not fix the problem of burning to dvd,,, if i need a video type editor, can anyone suggest one. and any setting i would need to be sure to do.... HELP... please Roxane

Thank you Uliwooly, turns out i have Movie Maker on my computer, but was not using the rotate function as they where showing correctly on the screen... i read all the instructions of Movie Maker and how to rotate a video (wikihow) and after a bit of trial and error i have the video playing the correct way, i appreciate all your help, and especially saving me having to purchase an adapter for the mobile, which does not solve the issue when i burn to dvd,,,,
Thank you once again
