Sony Xperia Z5 Compact E5823 - Cannot install update to Android 7.1.1 and Software Repair won't work

Hi Everybody,

I'm trying to update my Sony Xperia Z5 Compact E5823 to Android 7.1.1 and it won't install; I keep getting getting "Could not install" on the phone. I tried using the Software Xperia Companion app (yes I've also wiped and factory resetted my phone) and it says the Software is up to date (it's not, it's on Android 7.0) and when I go to Software Repair, it would download, then shut the phone off, and then disconnect. Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

long shot, but could you uninstall and reinstall XC on your computer?
