:smileysmileythumbsup: I bought my Sony xperia Z2 from a Friend that was moving abroad, phone is just a month old when i got it. I was trying to update with Sony Bridge for mac, and hald way during the updating it stopped and the computer could not recognise the phone and the battery started draining and it can't be charged. My phone is dead now, and is not charging. Please is there any solution to this? I contacted Sony for a replacement battery and they blantly said they do not make replacement batteries for Sony xperia Z2.
Hi!
I have a similar problem.
For 1-2 weeks my Xperia Z2 was every now and then restarting unexpectedly, and often upon restarting it also went through that "procedure" of "optimizing apps" (which usually happens when you update the system).
Last Tuesday I was on a call and it suddenly went off to never turn on again. I believe the problem is also that it ain't charging.
- When I plug in the USB charger, the red LED goes on (which indicates low battery), and sometimes even the screen goes on showing that big "low battery" icon. But it doesn't really charge (I've already tried it overnight).
While charging, if I press "power" it usually vibrates (but does not turn on), and if I hold power+volume up (or if I press the red reset button) it vibrates 3 times, but still nothing happens.
- While the phone is not charging, I can press any button and nothing happens.
- Now I just purchased a magnetic charger to give it a try, and it's pretty much the same as with the USB charger (if I press the power or reset buttons it vibrates accordingly), with the difference that now every 3 seconds the initial screen (sayng "Sony"in the middle and "Xperia" on the bottom) pops up and goes off.
- I have also tried the system recovery with Sony PC Companion, but it doesn't work (maybe because of the low battery).
Any other possible solution? Or is the only solution bringing it to the Service Center and hoping that within 7 months they'll get it fixed?
Oh, forgot to say: I also tried holding power + volume up (while charging), and after the phone vibrated 3x I released the power button and held volume up. When I did that, the blue LED went on (and stayed on as long as USB was plugged), but still it wouldn't work. That was a few days ago, so not sure if it still works.
But anyway, I just saw this solution on another forum, maybe it works for some as you as well (it's similar to what I just described but with a few differences... I'll try it later myself):
"I solved my problem. What I did was press the volume up button on the phone. As I was holding it I plugged in a power source and I held the volume up button untill I saw a blue light. I left it on the blue light for 5 minutes so I could charge the phone while its off force charging it. Then I unplugged the charger and booted it up like normal and plugged the charger back in once it booted up. Hope this made sense. I am new to these forums"
Alright, now it's working, another update:
Yesterday I was using the magnetic charger connected to my work computer's UBS port, and it wasn't working (as described).
When I came home (already hopeless), I plugged the magnetic charger into a power outlet and - BAM - the screen went on, I switched the phone on and now it's working again. It even had 91% of battery (which is really weird, I thought the battery was dead).
Anyway, hope it stays working, and hope this may help someone else out there.

YOU SAVED MY PHONE!!!! thank you!
Same like my phone what solution plz tell ask asap this very important .
I had very similar issues with my phone and had tried a lot of different methods to get it to accept a charge with no luck until I came across this post. I did hold down the vol up button and then plugged in the charger and held vol up until the blue LED came on (this hadn't happened before.) I let it sit for 5 min or so and the blue LED went back to red.
From this point I began to plug in the charger while holding down either the power button or the vol up button waiting for the blue LED to light again and then suddenly the charge symbol appeared on the screen and the phone began to charge. I waited until the charge had reached at least 10% and then tried to boot up the phone and it had come good.
Im not sure exactly the sequence that caused the phone to accept a charge but something triggered it.
It seemed to stem from getting the blue LED to come on (something must have switched in the phone)
I hope this helps someone .
