So the phone won't even let me turn wifi on.

Woke up this morning and my wifi was dropping in and out for no reason.

Went to another spot to test a different hot spot and still nothing doing.

Restarted the phone, reset the phone and even repaired it via the PC Companian.

Since then I can't even select the wifi on/off option.

Is this a hardware or software fault? Any known fix or do I have to waste my time sending my phone off to repair?

I'm sorry to hear about your phone.

If you go in to Settings > Wi-Fi, if you tap on the text "Off" or if you drag the slider to the right, are you able to turn on Wi-Fi, or is still stuck still stuck at "Off"?

If that is the case, please try and reboot your phone in safe mode, by doing that we can see if this is caused by a third party application, since they won't be loaded in safe mode.

If you experience the same behaviour while the phone is rebooted in safe mode I would recommend performing a software repair using Xperia Companion. Do note that this will delete all data stored on the internal storage of the phone so I'd recommend creating a backup using Xperia Companion prior to starting with the repair!
