I've recently purchased my Xperia Z3, which I love so far, but with one issue. I seem to be getting low signal (never above 2 bars, around 100 dBm), but I only sometimes have problems with slow data speeds, and I never have a problem with phone calls or sending messages.
Just now I set the preferred network mode to WCDMA (3G) only, and my signal has shot up to 4 bars and around 60 dBm, which to me is excellent. I then put the preferred network mode back to LTE, and my signal drops down again.
I can't quite explain why this is - would it be that my Z3 does not receive LTE very well? It can't be the network, because my friends/family have great LTE strength/signal with different phones.
Any input/opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Either a faulty SIM card, wrong APN settings, poor network coverage, or your carrier/network have to add the IMEI number to your account so you can have full LTE service.
Also is your phone compatible with your carrier's LTE bands?
Thanks for the suggestions. I asked my carrier about it and they said everything looked alright, but maybe I'll talk to my carrier again and bring up these specific points. Yes it is compatible with my carrier's LTE bands.
Get a brand new NANO SIM card and let us know how it goes after you contact them again
I talked to my carrier and although they originally said LTE signal is great, they are now saying it is apparently weak in my area and they are planning on improving the signal strength in the near future. Guess I'm sticking to 4G for now. Thanks for your input.
I knew it, anytime, I'm glad I was able to help
But did you not say "my friends/family have great LTE strength/signal with different phones."
Are they not on the same network?
I am having signal issues with XZ1 compact that I do not have with Nexus phones.
