As the title suggests, the 'none' option in the screen lock settings for my xperia z1 compact has disappeared entirely. It isn't greyed out, it just simply isn't there anymore.
This is a new development, as it was previously available on 5.1.1, and I think may have been the result of some pocket dialing. I took my phone out of my pocket and it had put a swipe lock on itself, and was in some random settings pages which I couldn't navigate away from properly until I turned the phone off and on again (can't remember which pages). I can't see what I could have accidentally changed to have removed the option altogether though (I think stuff to do with CA certificates and the like usually just grey it out).
Any potential solutions would be appreciated as I can't see any advice for the option having disappeared entirely.
Solved! Go to Solution.
Thanks!
You are right. It can be done
I tested it with a guest account which can't be removed from Settings -> Users. But if you switch to the guest user again, lock the screen, swipe down and tap top right icon there is an option to remove guest from there.
Clear the credentials
Go to Settings > Security > Scroll down and tap on >Clear Credentials > Try on the none lock again
That should solve it
There is also another possible cause for this.
If you switch to another user in Lollipop (either create a user or switch to guest), Android will remove the "None" option as screen lock. This is by design from Google and i'm afraid i don't know of any other way to get it back than a master reset.
@Rickard I think you can remove the account and it should work.
LE: There was an older thread where I think I posted the same and user told me it helped. But can't find it.
Thanks!

Bingo! I guess it must have created a guest account on pocket dial, that solution worked perfectly. Thanks so much, that's done the trick!
Glad to hear that
