Photo quality Xperia z3 compact

Hi there....just playing with my camera and reading about issues people are having. I first thought how crappy the camera was after viewing my pictures in the 'PHOTOS' App. Then I viewed them in 'ALBUM' ( which I can't remember if I downloaded or was included ) Anyway, the pictures look great now. Also, just using the little preview window when you are in the actual 'CAMERA' app, also shows that I have good quality pictures. Maybe the camera does have faults still, but I am just talking about the glaringly obvious crappy resolution when using the app 'PHOTOS'. Hope this helps

Hi there.......yes I have rebooted in safe mode. Exact same problem. The app 'photos' shows very bad quality photos I have taken from 8 - 20 mp. The other app 'album' is fine. As is the preview of photos when using the 'camera' app.

Where are you saving the pictures? Internal storage or a low class sd card?

Not something that i have noticed myself but i almost always use Album.

"Photos" is part of Googles app Google+ while "Album" is our app developed by Sony Mobile. Perhaps Google renders pictures with another quality in their app than what we do in our app?

Just tested it and you are right. Photos are not as sharp when i view them in Photos (Google+). Good find!

Good to hear. I thought I might be doing something wrong. Hopefully anyone worried about their photo quality will check this out before ditching their phones. Thanks

Well, I'm back with a new issue...Usually it takes good photos, but these ones, having the light in front...bad balance even though the presentation for that Exmor sensor is impressive. The photos are shot in manual mode no settings changed. I have to mention that it was cold that day, below 0 Celsius if that matters.
