The camera in this phone is fantastic but now that I can take and send better images I've exceeded my MMS allowance from Telco of 656kb.
I now get charged a small sum for each MMS that goes over the allowance.
My last iphone gave me options of the size of image I wanted to send but Z5 Compact doesn't do this. Am I correct? Is there any way that a warning comes before you press the go button of the size of image you're sending? If so how do I activate it please?
Peter
Solved! Go to Solution.
I believe hangouts is available on iOS, I cannot really comment on other companies products. It should not delete any messages from their device by installing it.
Hi @PetesZ5,
There is no way to adjust the size of an MMS in the default messaging app. Third party apps may be able to do this but I am not too sure.
In all honesty, MMS is very old technology and you will always lose a lot of quality when sending a picture via MMS. I would recommend an instant messaging app, such as Google Hangouts for example. These will bypass any MMS limitations and charges and use your mobile data/wifi instead.
Thanks Cameron I'll give it a try.

Hi Cameron
I changed my default ap from messanging to Hangouts but when I opened the Messanging Ap a window popped up saying do you want to change to messaging? When I hit no the Messanging Ap closed. It looks like it won't let me unless I'm missing something?

Hi Cameron
I believe I've worked it out. I had to sign into Hangouts which took me the Messenger Ap in Google Play Store. I guess my next bill will let me know if it works.
Thanks again
Peter
Yes you're right, you do need to sign in to Google to use Hangouts.
Please note that the recipient you are sending the photo to when using an instant messaging app, needs to have the same instant messaging app installed on their phone to receive it, otherwise it will send as an MMS.
Thanks Cameron that could work. However all my family members have iphones, can they install the Ap and not lose previous messages?
