message text on home screen!

I just updated my Z3 Compact. Now when I receive any text message (sms, whatsapp, etc) the message text pops up on the home screen before I open it! How can I turn this off?? It's so intrusive intrusive, can't stand it!! Please help!

Settings-sound and notifications,there should be an option not to show sensitive notifications.

Thanks for the help. Got into that menu but didn't see anything about sensitive notifications (just block all, or, prioritise)

Just scroll to the bottom of "Sound & notifications" settings page and you'll find "When device is locked", tap on it and choose "Hide sensitive notification content" or you can choose also "Don't show notifications at all"

@Quested Yes I went there but I don't have that option! Only "Don't show notifications at all" (which still does when phone is unlocked) or "Show all notification content"

It seems this option is only viable when a lock has been introduced to the handset, using slide only does not supply the option.

try adding a lock to the screen and the option should appear straight after you have added the lock.

let us know if it worked after adding a lock.
