How to manually update, downgrade, root 2013 Xperias

as always thanx XDA forum

Rooting "might" void your warranty. I'm not responsible if anything happen to your phone (nothing should go wrong,, if something do go wrong, just repeat the whole process).

Hi
I updated manually the 4.3 Vodafone UK version while I am in the MEA region.. Though Sony Select is not working, when I open it, it keeps giving me a message that there is no network connection even though my data plan and wifi connections are on.. What shall I do?

Hi uliwooly,

Can you please point a out a method i can use to Root xperia Z (C6603)  with Locked Boot loader.

I found this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2565850

But he has used the preview ( Journalist ) version of the 4.3 firmware release for rooting.

Is there anyway to root final 4.3 release (10.4.B.0.569) ?

Thanks  Slightly_smiling_Face

Hi

In message 6 Uliwooly said...

if you want to revert/downgrade there are 2 options

1) take your phone to a Sony Service Center

http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/support/contact-us/

or

2)

Xperia Z

Xperia ZL

Xperia SP

Xperia L

I'm desperate to get rid of 4.3 because of the issues with Bluetooth and want to downgrade back to 4.2.2. I don't want to wait weeks sending the phone to Sony's service centre to do that (assuming they even would?)

2) above doesn't seem to have any links or instructions - Is it just the case that I can flash with an earlier version of the firmware as if I was 'updating'? (Can I 'update' to an earlier firmware?)

If so, which 4.2.2 ftf file is best for a UK owner? The posted links are for Belgium, Spain etc - does the country matter? Will the language settings, networks etc be correct?

I'm on EE in the UK.

Thanks
