Headset not supported

I just bought the Z1C and my headphones that came with it didn't work. Now I have Lolipop on it, still to no avail.I just get the not supported message as soon as I plug them in.

What if you use different headphones? do you still get that error? 

You should take it back to the store.

I have no others near me. But I tried those that came with the phone on the laptop and they work fine.
