Can not receive premium content messages on Android 6.0

Hi

So I have the Xperia Z5 compact (E5823).

I had all sorts of issues at first with not being able to send messages to short codes. This has since been fixed but I can not receive messages from shortcodes.

For example I am trying to set my phone up for mobile banking and in order to verify my details the bank needs to send me a code to my phone number. It is in the form of an SMS from a shortcode number.

I can not receive this message, I have been in contact with my provider and they can confirm that the messages have been delivered to my number but believe I can not receive them because the phone is somehow blocking premium content messages.

But because this is Android 6.0 there is no where to go in the Apps settings to allow this option.

How do I fix this? why is this happening?

The problem seems to have fixed itself.

I uninstalled all the messaging apps and the banking app and got my provider to reset my messaging at the network level.

reinstalled messaging and banking and now I can receive short code messages.

Annoying but at least it all worked out in the end.

@Jennysue86

what if you use a different messaging app?

I tried two other messaging apps. Making each one the default and it didn't work.

I really can't believe that this bug is present in a marshmallow build.

I sent premium message, which costed me about 2€, and I never got automatic reply from operator server.

I contacted them, and they replied that message is sent normally, and I never got that message, not even when I put my SIM card in another phone.

And then I tried to send message from that other phone, and I got reply in instant, but that costed me another 2€.

I'm definitely going back to lollipop build, because I found so many annoying bugs in this build, that costed me both money and nerves.

@almirsahbaz

could you test it on safe mode ?

Because I was so annoyed with this issue, I rolled back to lollipop last night.

This was one of many issues with marshmallow build that I reported here.

After I rolled back to lollipop, I tried again to send new premium message, and I got reply from the server instantly, so definitely something is wrong with messaging system or messaging app itself.

Yes it is, and Sony doesn't want to hear about
