Camera flash doesn't work at all

Hi, i've bought a Sony Xperia Z5 Premium 2 weeks ago, when I got it the flash was working normally but yesterday when I tried to open the flash it wasn't working.

I've tried to open it with the flashlight option and it doesn't work, I've tried to take a picture with a flash and it doesn't work either.

I've tried the Xperia Companion repair solution, doesn't work.

I've also tried to restart and reboot the cellphone, doesn't work.

I've also tried to open it with another non-Sony flashlight app, doesn't work.

*I've never drop the cellphone or anything else that can cause any physical damage to the flash.

Thank you for your help.

I see, I am sorry to say but in that case I recommend that you have it sent in to an authorized service center in accordance to my previous reply. Slightly_frowning_Face

Hi @traposse, I'm very sorry to hear about that. Slightly_frowning_Face

From what I can see you have tried most troubleshooting steps, but prior to having it sent to an authorized service center, could you also check to see if it fails the Diagnostics test? You can test the Flash using Diagnostics by going to Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test > Flash.

If it fails the test, then my recommendation is that you have it examined by a technician at an authorized service center. The easiest way to have it sent in would be by contacting your Local support and have them assist you. I would gladly assist you myself, but I'm afraid that even though I work Globally I am not familiar with all local service routines, warranty terms and consumer laws. Slightly_frowning_Face

Keep me updated!

Hi, yes I've tried and it say: failed

i've also tried to test the flash while the phone is in safe mode and it doesn't work either.

Problem is now solved but if this can help anyone in the future that think his LED flash is broken... don't worry it's probably not the case.

i decided to format the phone completely and guess what still no flash and after using it for few hours all of a sudden the flash was working so it was just a bug which corrected by itself. Unfortunately I have no explanation.

That does indeed sound strange, but it is a good strange! I'm happy to hear that it has been resolved, but let's keep an eye on the behaviour and feel free to keep me updated should it return! Slightly_smiling_Face

I solved it:

Swipe down from the top and enable flashlight. Button lights up but flashlight stays off. Then go to camera app. Enable automatic flash. Take a picture in the dark. Flashlight from the puldown menu is grayed out again and everything is back to normal.

Seems to be a bug. Flashlight and camera-app must be bugging each other.
