Hi,
I can't answer calls as the call answer and reject buttons have disappeared from the lock screen. All I see is a notification as on the attached screen shot with ability to answer without unlocking the screen an opening the phone app.
I've looked at notification setting and phone is showing as silenced, but the options to un-silence aren't there, or I can't find them.
Any ideas?
Cheers,
Neil
Hi Quester,
Unfortunately that didn't make any difference. I've seen other posts where people mention a menu option for silencing notifications but I don't seem to have that option?
Cheers,
Neil
Hi,
Has anyone got any other ideas? I still have this problem and just can't answer calls before they ring off. A phone with no call buttons is not much of a phone!
Cheers,
Neil
I think it's pretty simple.. Just swipe down on incoming Cal notification!! U Wil get Answer | Decline options !! Spend sometime with ur device to know it well as wel as for future queries!
Hi Pravi,
Yes it is possible to answer the call, but not easy. It used to, and should wake the screen for an incoming call and show large green and red buttons to answer with like the pic below. It now doesn't wake the screen, so when a call comes in I have to wake the phone with the power button, then unlock the screen before I can do anything else. Then I can tap the notification to see buttons to answer the call. Most of the time the call is missed before I can get there. This not absolutely not the way the phone should work!
Any ideas on how to get it back to normal would be appreciated!

I got the same problem.
And I'm quite sure that it until some weeks ago, every incoming call caused the red and green button to show up immediately. Suddenly, only the notification shows up.
I tried to reset the phone via settings, repaired it via Xperia Companion, even downgraded to Android 6.0.1.
Nothing changed that strange behavior.
## Update ##
Well, seems I'm just too stupid
Fakt is, that the buttons to swipe only show up if the display is switched off or locked when the call comes in.
If the phone is unlocked, an incoming call is shown as rather small area at the top only.
Not sure if that was always the case, but I really confused myself because I kind of automatically unlock the phone the moment I pick it up.
Which is good, it shows that the fingerprint reader is perfectly placed on the Z5.
So my problem is gone, but I learned one thing: It is very hard to erase the phone completely. Including all settings. In the end I even tried a downgrade using some inofficial tools, and those allow you to wipe the phone completely. I didn't root the phone and I'm on the latest official Sony firmware now, but I got rid of some strange side-effects this way.
