Battery drain due to Style Cover Widget

I bought the Style Cover for my Z3 Compact. The Style Cover widget was installed automatically after the phone was "paired" with the cover using NFC.

In some situations, I do not use the Style Cover and strange things start happening - I let the phone without the Style Cover charge to 100% and I then realize that the phone after disconnecting from the charger uses about 1% of battery per hour. During this time, I do not do anything with the phone, no application, no wifi, no mobile data, no bluetooth, no NFC, signal is OK. Checking the battery usage shows 3 items "Phone idle", "Screen" and "Style Cover Widget".

Why is the Style Cover widget using any battery if the Style Cover is not used?

I would like to uninstall the widget, but it is not possible (without root that would probably void the warranty). What can I do?

You can do 2 things:

- Revoke notification access from the Style Cover: Go to Settings -> Sound & notification -> Notification access -> Un-check "Style Cover", this will prevent the cover widget from  interacting with your notifications.

- Disable widget app: Go to Settings -> Apps -> All -> Style Cover Widget -> Press "Disable app".

This drain happens with Style Cover installed or removed? And on a side note: 1% of phone battery per hous is pretty normal when phone idle. Just checking why Style Cover Widget is appearing on the list.

This happens with Style Cover removed. I charged the phone, restarted the phone and Style Cover widget still appears in Battery usage. I don't know why the widget is started at all and I would like to get rid of it. I know that battery usage in idle is much lower if the widget is not used.

Thank you for your valuable tips! I should have realized them by myself. Anyway, I revoked the notification access and disabled the widget app and everything seems OK so far - battery went down by 2% in about 8 hours overnight, which is what I was used to before using the Style Cover. Slightly_smiling_Face
