Backup problem Z5

Hi

I got my sony xperia z5 a couple of weeks ago and encounter backup problem today. It was running as usual a week ago.

I went into Setting => Backup & reset => More => Manual backup 

then try to change the "where to store file" to my gmail account but it wont sign in.  It kept on saying "online account not signed in".  Not matter what it wont let me change to online account, although the backup account section has my gmail signed in.

My gmail account is signed in in the accounts section as well and I cant find any other area that I need to sign in.

Could someone please help.   This is the first time it happen since I got my z5..

Online is back.... but now storage full? I have over 100gb free....

I'm glad to hear that it is working again everybody!

@Cs1575 Are you referring to your storage space on Google Drive? The storage space for the Xperia Backup & Restore feature is 100 MB when you use your online account and it is not connected to Google Drive.

Unfortunately I must report that the backup problem is back

The behaviour is exactly like the last time. It seems that the problem exists with logging into online account which must be chosen when backing up....

@Wodzu I just checked this myself and it does work for me. Did this stop working for you today or has it been like this for some days now?

It has stopped working for me 38 days ago BTW I am still on Android 5.1.1 if it does matter.

Just to reiterate behaviour is like this: It asks me where to store files, I have tree options: SD Card, USB device and online account.

I am chosing online account and the litte screen hangs.

I've trie to use two different google accounts. The acounts are working perfectly fine on my phone, they are synchronizing with google services. The problem is only when I try to back up my phone settings. It seems that my phone is unable to log in from there to google account.

You have to update your Android accordingly to the changes made by the software.

The screen will hang because of your software not updated to the last software.

And what apps did you deactivate under apps.?

@Wodzu You could try clearing data for the Backup & Restore app, Settings > Apps > [menu] > Show system > Backup & Restore > Storage > Clear data, then try to enable online backup again.

Have you tried updating your phone with Xperia Companion?
