Xperia XZ Video Not Playing, Stuck on Black Screen

Hi folks,

Recently I am having an issue that videos under the video app are not playing. the start and immediately sit on pause with a black screen.

The odd thing is the preview thumbnail plays.

If the video is on a whatsapp status I uploaded it plays.

it's only videos in this app.

I have force stopped the video app and cleared cache and restarted.

I am not sure what else I have to do .

I've seen that behaviour on my Z3 Compact.

Indeed a reboot was the only solution.:smileysad:

Which video app version do you have?

I have the exact same problem you have. Everything was working fine when I suddenly couldnt view any videos at all.
