Xperia backup

I do not have an "Xperia backup" section showing in my system settings menu on my new XZ3. I used to have Xperia backup enabled on my XZ1. Any ideas how to get this feature on the XZ3?

Hi @Andy2019, welcome to our forum!

The Xperia backup and restore feature was discontinued with the release of the Xperia XZ3, that is why it's not available in your device.

You can still use Xperia Companion on a computer to backup your data, or use the inbuilt Google backup that is found in Settings > System > Advanced > Backup.

Sony has removed the function to backup my XZ3 from the Companion app in favor to the only backup option giving Google cloud my private data.

This is outrageous, we pay for this hardware.

Hi @Oclair,

When you try to backup using Xperia Companion, what does it say? It should only be the 2019 models that can't use Xperia Companion to backup and restore data, the Xperia XZ3 should still be able to do so.

In settings->system->advanced you will find good old Xperia Transfer Mobile.
