Does somebody has an idea of a similar app of the nice camera function(timeshift burst) in former xperia phones?
1. Replaced with a proper burst mode
2. If you still want to pick from a series of 1080p lower grade images, use the video and get a screenshot.
The new burst mode is far, far superior to the timeshift burst (which was in reality a 1 second video)
Thanks for the answer. I like the Timeshift Burst but it's downside is the 1080p resolution. Glad that Sony returned the burst shot which I think, like you said, is a lot better. I hope XZ wohld get that in the Oreo update but not keeping my hopes high.😁
This is the point a miss, you're right, that the Resolution was lower, but:
1) it goes (kind of) back in time
2) takes 60 pictures in 1 second*
*according to what is written on here
You're getting more pictures from the fast momen you need
See the attached pictures as example
@SenenTimeshift burst recods 60 frames in two seconds:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sonymobile.android.addoncamera.timeshift
"It's so intelligent that it captures 61 frames* within just 2 seconds"
so 30 frames per second.
Ok, right, 30 pictures each second, the alternatives are:
1) burst mode with far less than 30p/s
But you have de predict de right moment
2) Video 60fps, but the frames have a poor quality and you have a large video with only few seconds of relevant Material
3) super slow-motion, nice, but you habe only 0.2 s (200 ms)
Conclusion:
Timeshift burst seems to me still the best option under certain circumstances

Actually 4k video at 30fps is better quality frames and same frames per second as timeshift burst
But burst mode is still the far superior option above all the others.
i am also regret that timeshift burst does not exist for xz1 compact.
I dont understand how you must predict the moment with burst mode on the xz1c but you dont have to on the timeshift burst. Its kinda the other way around.. If you see somehing you want to burst you just hold the shutter.. On the other hand with timeshift burst you have to change the app and then shoot... And the moment is gone. Burst mode is 10fps for 10seconds max, for a total of 100 pics at FULL resolution.. + refocus for each one. Then you can make an animation from them, or save just one, a few or all of them... This is probably the most impressive burst mode in a phone.
